Riviera F
Talking Heads vs. Modern Talking, Kraftwerk vs. Abba, High Heels vs. Highlights, Euro Boys vs. West-End Girls, Blue Veins vs. White Skin.
Riviera F was formed by Alexa Marlen and Kairo Sin, after meeting at a London art college. Almost immediately the band played their first ever gig on the BBC’s John Peel legendary Radio One show.
They then moved on to get signed to Nick Rhodes and Steven Duffy’s label Tape Modern, releasing their debut EP International Lover. The EP was also produced by Nick Rhodes and the International Lover video, directed by Matt Amato and starring Hollywood stud Billy Zane, was featured in Hollywood’s Resfest film festival, alongside videos from The Faint, and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s.
Riviera F’s debut album Another City, Another Plan is available on their own label Germ Free.
Heavy Sixer
Heavy Sixer is the synth conquered offspring of 'Adam Heart'
and 'The iLLiad' creator/front man Kyle Pittman. Kyle is a filmmaker, musician
and artist from rural Ohio, USA where he has spent many years a
recluse who collects pop cans, masks and VHS tapes. Initially created as
a one off side project under the moniker 'Jocko Homo', Kyle was persuaded
to re-release the Jocko Homo album 'Mondo Evolvo' through the UK label 'Germ
Free'.
As a concept album it should be listened to from start to finish preferably
blasted out as the background music to a cinematic gruesome killing scene
at a seedy nightclub, or down at the dark wood paneled basements that reek
of stale pot and porno sound stages hidden somewhere in suberban middle
America... Mondo Evolvo's sound is influenced by Eno, Beach Boys, Syd Barrett,
Devo, Bowie and Marc Bolan to name but a few and will include new tracks
and new album art.
Available as a digital release.
